When you mute someone on Instagram, you will still follow them but you won’t be able to see any of that user’s posts or stories on your feed. But that doesn’t mean you can’t see their posts. You can still get all the information about their posts and comments by visiting their account profile. Muted user stories will appear at the end of the story bar at the top of your feed. Method #1. Follow the steps if want to ‘Mute’ someone’s Story & Post on your feed.
Step 1. Tap on the story of that user you want to Mute.
(If that user’s story isn’t visible on your story bar, go to the next method.)
Step 2. Tap on the dots.
Step 3. Now tap on Mute.
Step 4. One thing to keep in mind, Mute a user story on Instagram is different from muting their post. If you want to mute the story then tap on Mute but if you want to mute stories and post then tap on Mute Story and Posts.
As we mentioned above, after muting that user’s story will still appear last on your feed.
Method #2. Follow the steps to Mute someone’s Stories and Posts through their profile.
Step 1. Tap on the search bar and type that user name you want mute.
Step 2. Tap on the Following and tap on the Mute.
Step 3. Now you can Mute their Posts and Stories by turning on the button below.

How to Unmute Someone on Instagram
Step 1. Tap you profile picture and then tap the three lines that appear in the top right corner.

- Log in to your Instagram account on PC.
- Click on Search and type that user you want unfollows.
